Example 1 — backing Team A (Decimal 2.25 = Fractional 5/4 = American +125):

Example 2 — Team B as favourite (Decimal 1.80 = Fractional 4/5 = American -125):
A ৳1,000 bet returns ৳1,800 if it wins (৳800 profit). In American odds, minus (-125) means you need to stake ৳125 to win ৳100 — this is the sign of a favourite.
Simple rules for reading odds
- Decimal above 1.0 — if you win, you always get your stake back plus extra profit
- Higher decimal odds — higher payout, but that team is considered less likely to win
- Fractional 1/1 = Decimal 2.0 — the easiest value to remember, called "even money"
- American + means underdog, − means favourite

As wickets fall and overs change, odds change too
